How to extract and review Hindi text from an image

Start with a clear image
Use a straight, well-lit image with readable printed text. Avoid glare, motion blur and a photograph taken from a steep angle. Cropping away a large empty border can make the relevant text easier to inspect; keep enough margin to avoid cutting off characters.
Open Hindi image to text , sign in and choose a JPG, PNG or WEBP image within the displayed upload limit. If you need a crop first, Crop image accepts a rectangle defined by left offset, top offset, width and height.
Select the recognition language
Choose Hindi for Hindi text, or the mixed Hindi-English option when the page contains both scripts. Start extraction and keep the page open while the browser processes the image. Larger images can need more memory and time on a phone.
The recognition models are hosted by TechSathi and the OCR step runs in your browser. Exported results are saved privately to your account. The workflow still needs an internet connection to load the application and models and to save the export.
Review words and numbers separately
The result is editable. Read it against the image line by line and correct names, matras, punctuation, dates and reference numbers. A confidence indicator helps identify a result that needs attention, but a high score does not prove that every character is right.
Check mixed-script words and numeric identifiers carefully. OCR can confuse similar shapes or insert spaces in the wrong place. For important details, compare each character with the source instead of accepting a plausible-looking word.
Choose an export that preserves Hindi
Use UTF-8 TXT for plain text or DOCX when you want to continue editing in a word processor. Reopen the downloaded file and confirm that the characters display correctly. Current server PDF exports do not reliably shape Devanagari, so TXT or DOCX is the better choice for Hindi output.
Copying the reviewed result is useful for a short passage. Keep the original image alongside the text if you need to check an uncertain word later. Generated downloads expire after 24 hours, so save a local copy of the export you need.
Handle scans and difficult layouts
For a scanned PDF, use Scanned PDF to text , which supports up to ten pages. For an English-only image, Image to text provides the same review workflow with the appropriate language choice.
Handwriting, faint printing, tables, stamps and multi-column layouts can reduce accuracy. This OCR does not reconstruct a spreadsheet or guarantee reading order for a complex page. Review the text manually and use a clearer source where possible.
